Sodexo is seeking a Registered Dietitian for a Clinical Nutrition Manager position at Metropolitan Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, TX. Metropolitan Methodist Hospital is one of the systems nine acute care hospitals. Located near downtown San Antonio, Metropolitan Methodist is a 338-bed facility, providing a complete range of healthcare services to the many neighborhoods and businesses that border its centralized location. Methodist Healthcare System is a 50-50 co-ownership between Methodist Healthcare Ministries, South Texas largest non-public funding source of community health care, and HCA Healthcare, the nations leading provider of health care services.


  • The facility offers outstanding cardiac care, general and surgical care, emergency services, neurosurgery, inpatient rehab services, bariatric services, and sleep disorder evaluation.
  • In 2005, Metropolitan Methodist Hospital Womens Pavillion, now known as The Suzell Waller Womens Pavilion, opened its doors. This is the only facility in downtown San Antonio completely dedicated to the health of women and their newborn babies.
  • 16-bed Level III NICU
  • Expanded ICU (additional 24 beds)


The Clinical Nutrition Manager serves in a clinical and operational, leadership role on the Food and Nutrition services team. This high visibility role will interact with our client and represent the department on medical, nursing and interdisciplinary committees, providing operational oversight at the direction of the Sodexo General Manager


We are seeking candidates who will actively engage our customers to strategically take our programs to the next level. The ideal candidate will:

  • Monitor and evaluate nutrition care services; accreditation and regulatory readiness and review; and establishing and maintaining standards of care.
  • Work as part of the clinical team and play an integral role with a mission to exceed client satisfaction through the application of Sodexo programs.
  • Lead and drive Performance Improvement and Quality Management projects.
  • Be a self-directed, innovative, flexible team player with excellent time management skills, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Have prior experience with electronic medical records charting and Nutrition Care.
  • Work closely with the management team to meet the needs of Sodexo as well as the client and be directly involved in continuous quality improvement
  • Position will assist the department in monitoring all Patient Satisfaction indicators (tray audits, host audits, meal rounds & assessments) and the posting of results.
  • Work closely with Nursing in Patient Satisfaction arena and work with patients providing nutrition assessments and patient education.
  • Previous clinical nutrition management experience in an acute care setting with a strong commitment to excellence in all aspects of patient care, preferred.
  • CNSC or other Board Certifications and/or advanced degree preferred.

Position Summary

Functions as the in-unit lead Clinical leader for a medium to large account or multiple accounts under one contract in a system. Manages the daily operations of nutrition services through direct supervision of both non-exempt employees and entry-level exempt professional employees.

Key Duties-Directs daily operations of nutrition programs and ensure customer and client satisfaction levels are met. -May provide direct nutrition care to population served -Establishes and executes operating standards, implements quality improvements, manages the budget and communicates them to other departments. -Maintains and develops client relationships and client satisfaction for nutrition services.-Promotes nutrition services and stays current with most recent nutrition-related trends, research, policy, certifications, and standards of practice. -Manages employees to ensure they meet goals, cost controls deadlines, and collect outcomes.-Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local regulations as well as Sodexo/client policies and procedures (e.g. Health Dept., HIPAA/Privacy Act, Joint Commission, quality assurance, safety, operations, and personnel).-Assists in the development of new business service(s) for the client, regional or national initiatives, projects, and implements the service program(s).



Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's Degree

Basic Management Experience - 1 year

Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in health care including hospitals, nursing homes, assisted or independent living facilities, long-term care, retirement homes, or clinics + registered dietitianSodexo is an EEO/AA/Minority/Female/Disability/Veteran employer.
