The Clinical Manager is responsible for ensuring the well-being of patients, leading daily operations and client interactions, providing quality medical care and services and creating a positive, supportive environment for patients and staff. This Clinical leader will be responsible for quality checks, procurement, scheduling, and first line support to staff on service-specific clinical issues. Collaborates with the Medical Director on clinical issues and works in conjunction with On-Site Solutions Operations & Human Capital Teams on issues (employee relations, physician relationships, regulatory compliance, orientation, etc.).


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Drives excellence in all aspects of day-to-day operations of the On-Site Solution through managing scheduling, all clinical staffing needs, training, workflows and other items as needed
  • Helps establish and maintain patient centered medical home certification and staff compliance with programs/processes
  • Manages and provides clinical support to non-provider staff
  • Coordinates and participates in the delivery of patient care ensuring compliance with physician orders and established policies and procedures
  • Ensures proper distribution of assignments and adequate utilization of materials, time and personnel to facilitate patient and work flow. Assists staff in developing organizational skills and in selecting priorities for the delivery of patient care
  • Acts as the catalyst to ensure staff are passionate about delivering genuine, caring and friendly healthcare; maintains a culture of excellence by recruiting, developing and retaining staff
  • Coordinates training of new clinical employees, including monitoring progress of new clinical employees and coordinating and participating in yearly training requirements
  • Assists with clinical directives to include implementation, evaluation of process and problem solving
  • Manages inventory to include ordering of medical supplies, observing trends, preparing for seasonal fluctuations, implementing changes in formulary and meeting temporary needs regarding backordered supplies
  • Maintains quality assurance standards within the clinic. Performs or monitors quality assurance testing for the laboratory, clinic and OSHA, to include weekly checks, monthly checks, quarterly checks, training of new staff and yearly training as directed
  • Monitors patient referrals. Assists with review of referrals to ensure prioritization, distribution and completion and maintains clinical logs
  • Collaborates with the client's other in-house and third party health and wellness resources to provide an integrated experience for members
  • Assists with maintaining a safe and clean working environment in accordance with OSHA standards. Assists with sharp container checks, annual TB testing and annual employee flu shots
  • Monitors lab errors to include assisting with investigation, completion of lab error reports, evaluation of errors and re-education or additional training as indicated
  • Ensures 100% compliance with the MedExpress Compliance Program and compliance with federal or state licensing requirements for both the On-Site Solutions and staff
  • Oversees meeting the needs of the patient - processes requests and referrals and provides efficient follow up with the patient, pharmacy or other entity, as needed
  • Assesses, screens, triages and performs treatments ordered for patients
  • Performs medical treatments as ordered by provider or established MedExpress standing orders
  • Assists the provider with examinations, procedures and other duties
  • Assist patients as needed with walking, transfer, specimen collection, exam preparation, etc.
  • Prioritizes and multitasks to optimize patient flow and the patient experience
  • Assists the provider with calling patients and informing them of normal lab and imaging results reviewed by the provider
  • Proper, concise and complete EMR documentation and paper based documentation for all assessments and procedures
  • Complies with and follows policies and procedures as outlined by MedExpress
  • Maintains HIPAA at all times
  • Other duties as assigned such as new models of care and new types of procedures, etc.
  • Obtains and maintains patient centered medical home accreditation to include, but not limited to, developing and implementing a quality improvement program, establishing and coordinating exchange of relevant patient information within the guidelines of HIPPA with local healthcare organizations and obtaining and analyzing performance data
  • Participates in quality improvement projects to include the following topics: patient/primary care provider relationship, accessibility to care, comprehensiveness of care, continuity and/or coordination of care and clinical study

This role is patient-facing and requires working in a clinical setting. The noise level is moderate and there is a potential for exposure to infectious diseases and blood-borne pathogens. It requires the ability to stand and sit for hours at a time (with some bending and stooping), ability to use manual dexterity in relation to clinical requirements, and ability to lift 50 lbs. Hours may vary based on location, patient volume, and business needs.
