Stonington Institute is committed to providing quality substance abuse treatment options for adultsin Southeastern Connecticut and surrounding areas. We offermedical detox aswell as residential addictions treatment for active duty and retired military service members in our North Stonington location. Our clinic in Groton, CT, offers partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient treatment, and is conveniently located across the street from The Inn at Trails Corner, a new 180 bed dormitory-style sober community for adult men and women who attend our outpatient day treatment programs. The Inn offers overnight accommodations, full-meal service, indoor/outdoor recreation options, a workout room, and computer center for all clients.

The Clinical Instructor is responsible for facilitating psycho-educational groups as scheduled in the PHP/IOP programs and developing the curriculum for same, based on program needs and Instructor specialty. In addition, the Instructor assists in the provision of case management services to clients in the program, as needed and appropriate.

The Instructor exercises judgment, leadership, and teaching ability in the field of alcoholism and drug abuse, behavioral, mental health and trauma while interacting with all members of the health care system serving this client population.

Job Requirements

Independent license preferred (LMFT, LCSW, LPC, LADC, specialty area such as Dietetics or Art Therapy). Bachelors Degree required; Masters Degree preferred. For non-licensed individuals, either (1) CAC and one year substance abuse counseling experience; or (2) three years substance abuse counseling experience; or (3) two years experience facilitating groups in specialty area. SCCD a plus.
