The Clinical Director of Outpatient Services performs a multitude of functions related to social services and business management of the Intensive Outpatient Programs, Partial Hospitalization Programs and contract services provided outside the facility. These include assuring staff performs their respective duties in an efficient and therapeutic manner. The goal is to assure that staff provide services to all outpatient patients so that patient needs are met from a biopsychosocial standpoint. The director also assures that the general day-to-day functions of outpatient programming are met. The ultimate goal of this position is to assure that all patients have access to therapeutic treatment skills to achieve their optimal level of emotional health, including providing basic consultation, teaching, complete specialized clinical social work services for patients/families receiving care, crisis intervention, short-term and long-term family therapy, and providing feedback to staff and referrals as indicated.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Master's Degree from an accredited college or university, in Social Work or a clinical related mental health field. The Director of Outpatient Services requires at least (5) years experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience in individual, family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills; must have strong clinical assessment skills. Also a knowledge of state laws and regulations as well as knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and MCO's is helpful.

License: Kentucky state licensure as a LCSW, LPCC or LMFT; LCADC certification a plus.

Additional Requirements: CPR certification and HWC training. May be required to work flexible hours.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands as described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position will include moderately strenuous work requiring the ability to lift and/or carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds. An employee must have sufficient strengths and agility to participate in psychiatric crisis requiring therapeutic physical restraint of patient who have lost self-control. Occasional stooping, kneeling, and reaching are required. Must be able to accurately perceive the nature and quality of sound and perceive visual impressions related to shape, size, distance, motion and have near normal visual acuity and color perception. The job requires 10% sitting and 90% standing or walking. The employee may participate in physical restraint of patients.

Ability to communicate on an effective level with both clients and staff from a variety of disciplines.
