OptumRx is seeking a business leader to accelerate the growth of our Off-Benefits Healthcare Services business, including our Optum Perks business, through three core avenues: strategic growth of our business, identifying new partnerships inside and outside of UnitedHealth Group and driving strong operational excellence.

As Chief Operating Officer of the Off-Benefits Healthcare Services Business, you will provide leading edge thinking and direction to excel the core operations of the organization, while also driving partnership opportunities to expand reach. You will have overall accountability to meet core operational metrics, customer support needs, develop relationships with key prospective partners (both internal and external), establish an influential relationship across the organization, direct and effectively develop strategic goals into specific business plans, and lead a collaborative team of people to achieve these goals.

  • Own overall operational performance and service delivery to clients and consumers
  • ""
  • Drive and own key vendor relationships, including contracting, performance management to meet SLAs, cost management, and program delivery
  • ""
  • Continually improve member satisfaction (measured through Net Promotor Score and other member experience tools)
  • ""
  • Proactively monitor operational performance
  • ""
  • Develop new products, digital capabilities and tools
  • ""
  • Initiate and drive appropriate changes in process, tools and capabilities that increase effectiveness and improve the consumer experience
  • ""
  • Direct overall operations, determine performance objectives/metrics, define tools to measure progress and ensure consistent achievement of business objectives
  • ""
  • Present timely, accurate and complete business plans, reports and presentations
  • ""
  • Facilitate team meetings to monitor milestones, recent accomplishments, and next steps
  • ""
  • Lead and support cross-Optum initiatives, spanning growth strategy and operational excellence by directly scoping, executing, controlling and closing strategy projects
  • ""
  • Lead large, complex projects to achieve key business objectives
  • ""
  • Nurture and develop strong relationships with Optum corporate and business unit leaders
  • ""
  • Promote professional development of team members
  • ""
  • Enhance team member skills and capabilities through project work and one-to-one coaching

  • Inspire and motivate employees to deliver compassionate, efficient and effective service

  • 10 + years of experience serving in progressive leadership roles in a complex, global and matrixed organization
  • ""
  • Experience leading in a fast-paced environment, at a lean and growing company dedicated to operational and financial success
  • ""
  • Track record of success working in a direct-to-consumer/B2C organization and delivering innovative products/services
  • ""
  • Customer obsession / orientation
  • ""
  • History of success driving strategy development efforts
  • ""
  • Proven financial analysis (qualitative & quantitative) skills
  • ""
  • Experience managing win/win relationships with external clients
  • ""
  • Effective executive level facilitation, negotiation and presentation skills
  • ""
  • Demonstrated success leading and developing a geographically dispersed team of 100+ people through other leaders
  • ""
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects/programs to ensure their quality and on-time delivery

  • Digital native company experience preferred

  • MBA desired

Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $169,500 to $322,500.
