Unit Description

Sodexo is seeking a Chef Manager for it's operation at St. Luke's Hospital, part of Mohawk Valley Health System, acute care hospital, in Utica NY.  The Chef Manager will have oversight of production staff at St. Luke's, working closely with Sodexo Executive Chef.  The Chef Manager will assist in preparation of food and support the Front-line team members during the service periods.  This is a hands-on position and requires high visibility in the operation.  Emphasis on Patient Services, to help increase Patient Experience scores.  

 

The successful candidate will:

  • direct and supervise union kitchen operations and designated front of house staff;
  • ensure that the highest possible standards of food handling and preparation are achieved;
  • control and ensure the company's and client's financial targets are achieved;
  • engage with peers, colleagues and patrons in a manner that invites interaction and feedback. 
  • have culinary experience; 
  • are enthusiastic, confident and warm; 
  • have a positive approach to tasks with a can-do attitude and impeccable attention to detail;
  • Serve Safe Certified.

Position Summary

Responsible for the day to day execution of the menus & culinary deliverables.  May be responsible for smaller units within a multi-location.

Key Duties- Executes the culinary function.- Customer & Client satisfaction.- Handles administrative functions. 

 

 

Qualifications & Requirements
