Sodexo is seeking an Chef Manager for our Government Services segment in Reston, Virginia! This a great opportunity for a polished and professional  Manager with a culinary background seeking to grow their career and skill set.


Join our long-standing account within a government agency providing dining services to their staff and guests. 


The best qualified candidate will be have a culinary and retail food service background and be able to inspire their staff of 10 hourly frontline employees to uphold our standards at all times.  


Are you a leader? The Chef Manager will be in charge of:


  • An exciting corporate service cafe
  • Customer service
  • Client relations
  • Inventory
  • On-site marketing/digital signage program
  • Purchasing compliance and ordering
  • Implementing sustainability initiatives
  • About 10 direct hourly reports including baristas and cashiers
  • Cash handing/operations

Responsibilities and key expectations for this position include:


  • Lead the frontline staff in providing an exceptional customer service experience to the customers we serve
  • Complete daily kitchen inspections
  • Ensure consistency in food quality and presentation to all customers served
  • Implement new programs and systems to support our food service operations
  • Maintain HACCP and safety standards for the operation 
  • Create staff schedules
  • Maintain Sodexo's cash handling standards, accounting, and reporting processes
  • Prepare operating reports and compile unit data for our client
  • Partner with frontline staff to enhance engagement and develop their skill sets
  • Ability to build and maintain strong client and customer relationships

Position Summary

Responsible for the day to day execution of the menus & culinary deliverables.  May be responsible for smaller units within a multi-location.

Key Duties- Executes the culinary function.- Customer & Client satisfaction.- Handles administrative functions. 



Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma or GED or equivalent Basic Management Experience - 1 year Sodexo is an EEO/AA/Minority/Female/Disability/Veteran employer.
