Sodexo School Services Division is seeking an experienced Chef Manager for East Hartford Public School district in CT.  This is a great opportunity to develop your career.  This is a well established 4 million managed volume account with 17 school locations, 7000 students offering a breakfast, lunch, summer feeding and a large catering program. 

 

The Chef Manager will report directly to the General Manager and manage the overall day to day operations of programs for 3 high schools including marketing, safety, menu planning, financials, state and federal standards and requirements, human resources and have direct supervision of 3 site leads.  The Chef Manager will have client contact, support program development and district implementation of programs along with improvement plans.

 

The ideal candidate has:

  • a strong culinary background, with the demonstrated ability to stay current with new culinary trends
  • proven success in high volume/high quality production such as catering or central kitchen
  • a passion for sustainable sourcing
  • a collaborative approach to managing
  • knowledge of special diets and allergens
  • excellent leadership and communication skills
  • a sense of urgency
  • experience managing effective production schedules and production process flows
  • SERV Safe certification, culinary degree preferred

Position Summary

Responsible for the day to day execution of the menus & culinary deliverables.  May be responsible for smaller units within a multi-location.

Key Duties- Executes the culinary function.- Customer & Client satisfaction.- Handles administrative functions. 

 

 

Qualifications & Requirements
