Position Overview:

Reporting to the Executive Chef, the Chef is responsible for ensuring that food production meets all standards set out by the company, food industry, and/or government regulations.

 

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside Executive Chef in providing culinary support to Residence Dining Managers and Sous-Chefs
  • Ensure all employees and management have necessary Food Production documentation, including Production Sheets, Temperature Logs, Cooling Logs, Cooking & Reheating Logs, and Sanitation Logs daily
  • Assist Executive Chef in conducting audits of Food Production to ensure compliance and identify areas where improvements are needed and develop solutions alongside the Executive Chef and Food Service Managers
  • Assist Executive Chef in monitoring compliance of Food Production and Food Safety standards in accordance with company, provincial and federal regulations.
  • Maintain tracking system for all Food Safety and Food Production documentation in accordance with company, provincial and federal regulations.
  • Perform other tasks as outlined or requested by management while adhering to company, provincial and federal regulations

 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years progressive culinary experience
  • 3+ years experience in leadership role
  • Red Seal considered an asset
  • Completion of Hospitality or Food and Beverage program considered an asset
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel and MS Outlook
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Results focused leadership style
  • Positive, can-do attitude
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail
  • Able to take initiative when appropriate
  • Ability to be flexible as evening and weekend work may be required
