Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the maintenance, communication, and audit functions of a standard, system-focused Corporate Charge Description Master (CDM)
  • Deliver, monitor and maintain a consistent accurate CDM that is compliant with regulatory agencies
  • Provide advice and support to region/facility staff as needed
  • Work in a cooperative team environment to provide value to customers both internal and external to Optum 360
  • Maintain the Corporate and/or Local Standard CDM in compliance with regulatory agencies and applicable policies
  • Responsible for making CDM related decisions that require significant analysis and investigation with solutions requiring significant original thinking
  • Maintain current knowledge in applicable rules and regulations governing CDM and disseminate relevant information to the CDM team and other areas of the Revenue Cycle
  • Responsible for CMS Transmittal and Medi-Cal Bulletin distribution and/or implementation within established timeframe
  • Responsible for provision of CDM related reports and information as needed to internal and external customers, originating in A/R systems and/or Craneware
  • Management of relevant Inboxes and resolution of CDM requests and Inboxes within established timeframes
  • Proactively ensure coverage when out of office
  • Interact with leadership, department managers and regional facility staff members regarding alignment and adherence to corporate standard, regulatory compliance and reimbursement issues
  • Respond to customer inquiries and requests professionally and able to analyze revenue cycle questions and issues to resolution
  • Able to create and effectively deliver CDM-related educational materials
  • Work closely with assigned hospitals to ensure ongoing compliance with the Corporate Standard
  • Communicate alignment audit findings with the necessary parties and follow up to ensure identified issues are corrected
  • Take initiative to identify system and/or operational problems and participate in the development of solution for improvement to billing functions for client facilities
  • Keep Management informed when assigned responsibilities may not be completed within established timeframe
  • Serve as a resource to EHR/implementation project team members
  • Manage local and/or Standard CDM utilizing Craneware system as needed
  • Maintain alignment to Corporate Standard at a minimum of 99% compliance rate
  • Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to support the changing needs and priorities of the department and organization
