The Telemetry/Medical/Surgical Department at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center provides acute inpatient hospital services for patients. Telemetry/medical/surgical beds have the capability of monitoring patients with cardiac issues.

We also care for surgical patients that need post-operative care as well as medical patients with a wide range of conditions, including:

  • Cardiac
  • Acute respiratory
  • Gastrointestinal
  • Genitourinary
  • Musculoskeletal
  • Neurological disorders

This position is for a Charge Nurse on Med/Surg for Night Shift (7p-7a)

The Charge Nurse assumes shift responsibility and accountability for the planning and provision of direct and indirect nursing care to the patient, family, care partner and appropriate others. Coordinates multi-disciplinary team members, directs and facilitates nursing staff in obtaining safe, optimal health care outcomes. Supports activities that meet the facility vision, mission and goals. Provides professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. The concepts of Patient Centered Care will provide the foundation for all nursing care. Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times.

Job Requirements

Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program. BSN preferred.

Minimum of one year full time or three years part time experience in acute care specialty nursing. One to three years supervisory experience preferred.

Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS at time of hire

NIH and/or CPI as required by specialty (within 90 days of hire)

Current state nursing license.

Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility.
