Behavioral Educational Services, Inc (BES) oversees two facilities in Brevard County, FL (Riverdale Country School and Fieldston Preparatory School). Riverdale Country School is currently seeking a Counselor. The Counselor provides behavioral support to reinforce the social/emotional, independent functioning and communication goals for each student's IEP as directed by the Child Study Team. The Counselor also completes a Home Assessment, Functional Behavior Assessment, Behavioral Intervention Plan and writes certain IEP goals for each student. The Counselor also teaches students behavioral skills through performance objectives in the Social Personal course codes.

Essential JobDuties:

  • Complete a Home Assessment, Functional Behavioral Assessment as needed and designs a Behavioral Intervention Plan based on each student's individual needs
  • Complete Social/Emotional, Independent Functioning and Communication goals and objectives for each student's IEP.
  • Complete Student Progress Notes on a weekly basis
  • Teach Social Personal Class to strengthen student's positive behavioral skills
  • Ensure individual students and their families are involved in the development of IEP goals and objectives
  • Ensure student intervention program goals and objectives are consistent with overall school goals and objectives
Job Requirements

Education:Bachelor's Degree in mental health/behavioral sciences field from an accredited college approved by the Florida Department of Education

Experience:Minimum of two (2) years experience in psychiatric/mental health field

Licensure:Appropriate State requirements as a Florida ESE Teacher
