The Captive Sales Director is responsible for building, expanding, and maintaining executive level relationships with Captive Lenders. S/he will be the representative and advocate of Cox Automotives Lender business and will work in conjunction with the Enterprise Account Management and Lender Solutions Sales teams to present, gain agreement, and execute on the delivery of product or service solutions. This will require exceptional communication skills to set clear expectations, motivate internal partners, and drive accountability on commitments.

S/he will demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of automotive retail lending products and services to build and influence executive-level relationships. S/he must have deep knowledge of the lenders business, which will be leveraged to grow the scope of our business relationship, bring in relevant Sales teams and capabilities when necessary, and help our Lender partners achieve their objectives. This role will partner internally to build a robust account strategy and create opportunities to expand the depth and breadth of our products and services.

* Leverage their extensive knowledge to solve complex problems and apply industry expertise to help Lenders differentiate their business by considering Cox Automotive product offerings.

* Build trusted relationships with decision makers and influencers.

* Responsible for Lender revenue generation, growth, and retention. Oversee the contract renewal cycle and support the renewals process to minimize client attrition.

* Proactively develop and communicate insightful information, long-term strategies, impacts of emerging practices and technologies and assess the risks of using or not using such practices and technologies.

* Utilize relationships to help the sales team members gain access to critical decisions makers.

* Liaise internally with Enterprise Account Management as well as business leaders and critical functions (e.g. Sales Operations, Product, etc.), acting as the client interface on key work and ensuring an efficient and positive client experience.

* Partner with the Enterprise account team and work to set the strategy & goals, identify & manage account lifecycle, and participate in account planning.

* Connect and partner with the internal business stakeholders to stay abreast of internal changes, enhancements and product road map offerings.


* Bachelors degree preferred or combination of education and auto retailing experience preferred

* 7+ years of experience in sales and client management responsibilities to executive client base

* Knowledge of automotive retail/ automotive lending strongly preferred

* Proven ability to strategically position and sell high value set service offerings, navigate corporate politics, establish and build long-term relationships with key decision makers and stakeholders

* Ability to influence internal executive sponsors and stakeholders to fund and drive transformative strategies, products and projects

* Successful track record of industry thought leadership and the ability to interact with and support executive-level communications and interactions

* Effective time management & proven ability to manage multiple accounts, priorities and team member expectations in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment

* Demonstrates a high level of integrity, handling sensitive and confidential information with tact, discretion and judgment

* Up to 50% overnight travel
