The Business Program Senior Consultant will serve as a Medicaid Subject Matter Expert on the various divisions within the Department of Human Services, and the Division of Medicaid Services. The Business Program Senior Consultant will consult with Medicaid division directors to develop analytical strategies to promote continual improvement, efficiencies, and enhance quality of medical outcomes for Medicaid recipients. This person will lead or participate with multidisciplinary teams to implement new analytics that monitors Medicaid policy and programs. Bring creative ideas while conducting research on topics related to state and federal Medicaid policy.


Primary Responsibilities:
  • Analyze industry trends, customer needs, competitive threats, expansion opportunities and internal performance
  • Perform primary and secondary market research to generate strategic intelligence and insights
  • Deliver data-driven insights to support actionable strategic direction, corporate prioritization and communication
  • Support the corporate planning process and ad hoc projects for executives, corporate requests and special events
  • Build market and competitive intelligence reports, dashboards and tracking structures

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience with Medicaid and CHIP, including policy
  • 3+ years of experience with claims or data management
  • Ability to build and adhere to strict timelines for reviews
  • Ability to conduct research, synthesize information, and present findings or recommendations
  • Possess experience working collaboratively with a State client in the programmatic area ascribed
  • Possess expert knowledge of the AME DSS solution
  • Possess a working knowledge of AME business operations
  • Possess a bachelor's degree in a health care, business administration, or information technology related field; OR four (4) years' experience, in addition to the general requirement for two (2) years' experience, will be a suitable substitute for the bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Arkansas Medicaid
  • Experience with the variables, file construction, and data layouts of Medicaid and CHIP data sets
  • Experience in the consulting field
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and coding
  • Knowledge of insurance claims systems
