The Manager, Business Intelligence leads in the development and support of enterprise IT reporting solutions while handling provider, clinic, and departmental information and reporting needs.  The position collaborates with leadership and is responsible for assembling reports that measure patient care, gaps in care, clinical outcomes, utilization, and provider performance.

The Manager, Business Intelligence will oversee the daily operations of the Business Intelligence Team.  Responsibilities include oversight of the development of reports and solutions that support the organizational needs and fulfill regulatory compliance.  This position will ensure appropriate processes are in place to manage the requirements, development, quality and accuracy within a systems development life cycle SDLC framework for of the products it builds.  

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Leads the strategic design and maintenance of enterprise business intelligence applications

  • Examines enterprise/regional/operational reporting needs and concerns to determine opportunities or problem areas, and provides feedback regarding development of applicable solutions, policies, procedures, methods and/or standards

  • Ensures that the use of business intelligence applications enhances business decision making capabilities; through standard/ad hoc reporting, scorecards, visualization, and analytics

  • Oversees the analysis and determination of applicable source data (data feeds, systems, databases, sources of truth) to use for report applications

  • Manages the development of automated solutions for reporting, ad-hoc projects and longstanding processes; establishing and refining efficiency processes and standards

  • Identifies enhancement opportunities for report performance, efficiency and optimization, and ensures scaling capacity to enable future growth

  • Researches and recommends new offerings, innovation and the general advancement of enterprise reporting capabilities (i.e. dashboards, data visualization, self-serve reporting, and autonomous/dynamic reports)

  • Meets regularly with business and IT leaders, and maintains proactive communication with customers; clinicians, regional/market leads, and data stewards

  • Manages intake of enterprise report requests, gathers business requirements and prioritizes against other projects in queue

  • Guides report requesters in identifying report specifications (i.e. attributes, parameters, calculations, roll-ups, drill-ins)

  • Organizes and provides training to end users on reporting tools and usage of reports.

  • Coordinates and manages the business intelligence team's daily activities and operating budget

  • Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhere to approved budgets

  • Establishes team direction, and sets a collaborative and innovative team work environment that fosters autonomy, transparency, high degree of craftsmanship and personal growth

  • Mentors and guides the professional and technical development of team members

  • Performs all other related duties as assigned
