About the Sales and Event Marketing Associate


The Sales and Event Marketing Associate will be responsible for selling Benefitter technology to insurance agents and agencies, supporting account management and customer success efforts, and participating in in-person marketing events.


The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in technology inside sales, small group health insurance, a healthy intellectual curiosity and a can-do, flexible attitude. Like any startup, Benefitter is perfecting its value proposition and pitch and this role will likely evolve based on the partners we work with and business needs. You will play a big part in that evolution and help refine the pitch and bring market feedback back to our product development team. To that point, because the initial sales organization will be small, there is opportunity for advancement to supervisory roles as we achieve collective success with Benefitter.


The Sales and Event Marketing Associate will be an integral part of the tight-knit Benefitter team and interface broadly both within UHC and with partners to optimize Benefitter's sales success.  This associate will be paid a competitive base salary and qualify for sales incentives upon meeting agreed upon milestones.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Answer inbound requests from brokers interested in learning more about Benefitter's platform
  • Listen carefully to understand Benefitter's fit within the brokers' existing workflow and opportunities to improve brokers' efficiency and effectiveness
  • Ask appropriate questions and listen actively to identify specific needs and opportunities
  • Supplement inbound activity and follow-ups with open leads with outbound prospecting (social, e-mail, phone) to stimulate additional broker interest in Benefitter
  • Activate brokers on the Benefitter platform and serve as their primary point of contact for the first 30 days post activation
  • Conduct user outreach and engagement, track user activity, and provide customer support as needed
  • Thoroughly document all interactions and insights gleaned in our CRM system
  • Become an expert on the Benefitter technology, competitive technologies and brokers' business goals and processes
  • Represent Benefitter at trade shows and broker events across the US, as required
