Business Development & Sales

The business development and sales team is responsible for implementing Perspecta's growth strategy to include development of a robust pipeline, price-to-win, competitive market research, proposal operations, and ID/IQ program management. These functions are critical to identifying new markets, sustaining the existing customer base, guiding the pursuit of strategic capture opportunities and proposal development.


Perspecta is seeking a Business Development Executive to cover the Defense Health Agency (DHA). This is a full-time position with Perspecta. The candidate that fills this position will be expected to do the following:

- Act as the lead Business Development Executive supporting the Health Business Group
- Work closely with the capture, proposal, account, and offering teams to understand the scope of the engagement and contract in order to provide requisite analysis/information and recommendations to the pursuit and account teams.
- Lead deal teams and represent the company to the customer for all technology-related opportunities in support of the DHA. Emphasis is placed on large, new programs.
- Assemble all required resources/skills to support opportunity qualification and capture
- Possess a strong understanding of Perspectas capabilities and ability to engage a prospective client in meaningful discussions on his or her programmatic and technical needs.
- Coordinates all deal team efforts with sponsorship by the Health Business Group.
- Leads opportunity identification, qualification and risk assessment.
- Responsible for validating/endorsing the technical solution for the deal. Works with delivery to assure that solution design can be properly delivered.
- Develop deal timeline and ensures that pursuit team meets deal milestones and deadlines.
- Leads pursuit team in developing and substantiating a winning value proposition that meets the needs of the customer, including analyzing critical business drivers and risks.
- Assess and quantify risk for major, high-stakes projects and programs.
- Make decisions on program staffing resource planning.
- Close one or more accounts with approximate annual revenue $50-100M
- Frequently represent Perspectas health portfolio within the organization and to external customers, prospective customers, and business partners.
- Act as subject matter expert providing direction and guidance to process improvements and establishing policies.
- Frequently contribute to the development of new ideas and methods.


Education and Experience Required:

- 10 years experience in Sales, Capture or Solution Development support for professional services firms that contract to DHA.

- Formally credited with multiple prime contract wins in DHA.

- Strong working knowledge of DHAs Directorates and their subordinate centers and offices.

- Typically 9+ years directly related experience in IT Sales/Capture/Solution Development and/typically 12+ years in complex IT service business environment.

- University or Bachelor's degree or a technical degree.

- Demonstrate business, technical, or functional knowledge at the mastery level, as well as administration or operations knowledge.

- Strong knowledge of technology services solutions preferred

Knowledge and Skills required:

- High level of vertical industry knowledge in IT domains.

- Able to influence deals where the company is not the low-cost provider.

- In-depth vertical solution expertise.

- Acts as a Strategic Partner, Trusted Advisor.

- Leadership skills in directing pursuit and/or delivery teams.

- Highly developed consultative approach, solution selling and business development skills.

- Business and customer oriented team player with ability to form alliances

- Strong influencing and communication skills at a CIO level. Must be fluent in English.

- Ability to cope with high peak workloads, travel and periods away from home, and short deadlines.
