Perspectas Civilian, State and Local segment partners with the U.S. Federal Civilian State and Local governments to provide infrastructure services, business solutions, and digital transformation services that help them achieve policy objectives and integrate citizen-centric services.

Perspecta has an immediate need for a Cloud Architect / Cloud Engineer to support the National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS) of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).This role will work with the NOAA teams supporting the Cloud Program Management Office (CPMO) at NOAA SSMC3 in Silver Spring, MD.

The ideal candidate for this role will need to have demonstrated agile development experience using Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies.In addition, the ideal candidate will need to be able to assess and understand the current cloud framework and services and work with NOAA/NESDIS cloud technical leadership to support the development and deployment of new services to the NESDIS Cloud Framework.

The ideal candidate will need to successfully demonstrate the following skills:

• Provide technical leadership by identifying how new services can be implemented using core backend services and AWS cloud services
• Understand the architecture of the existing cloud framework and deployed services
• Understand the architecture of new and modified candidate services against the cloud framework and identify approaches for deploying services into the Framework in the AWS Cloud
• Identify, develop, and review user stories, epics, and initiatives required to define and deploy new services
• Brief non-technical executive and technical leadership on architecture and approaches

Required Skills

• Requires 10 to 12 years experience with a BS/BA degree or 8 to 10 years with a MS/MA degree
• Demonstrated experience with Amazon Web Services
• Demonstrated architecture and systems engineering experience for transforming and migrating on-prem systems to the AWS Cloud
• Demonstrated experience using Scaled Agile Framework methodologies
• Familiarity with Cloud and NIST Security practices
• Experience with Jira and Confluence
• Effective verbal and written communication
• US Citizenship for eligibility to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance

Desired Skills

• Amazon Web Services Associate or Professional level certifications
• Familiarity/experience with other Cloud Service Providers in addition to AWS (e.g. Azure, GCP)
• Prior NOAA or NASA Ground System experience
