Pfizer is seeking a talented individual to join our Analytical Research and Development organization to enable development of biological therapeutics and vaccines. The Associate Scientist position within the Bioassay and Impurity Testing Group will be responsible for supporting the development and lifecycle maintenance of bioassays used to evaluate the potency of biological candidates in clinical development. This position will provide laboratory support and contribute data and knowledge to the development of a diverse portfolio of biotherapeutics including monoclonal antibodies, fusion proteins, vaccines, and other novel biological modalities. The successful candidate will have general knowledge of the development of immunoassays and cell-based functional assays.


+ Responsible for performing a variety of immunological and cell-based testing and applying these methods to a broad range of biotherapeutics.

+ The candidate must be able to interact and communicate effectively with peers and leaders as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

+ Documentation of analytical results according to cGMP practices.

+ The candidate must thrive in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task are required.


Basic Qualifications:

+ The candidate should have a minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in biology, biochemistry, cell biology, immunology or a related discipline.

+ Experience with Good Documentation Practices.

+ Laboratory experience in a variety of analytical laboratory techniques.

+ Ability to follow established procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Some knowledge of drug development process for progression of biological candidates.

+ Experience with laboratory data systems such as Laboratory Information Management Systems.

+ Effective oral and written communication skills.

+ Experience in GxP (GLP, GMP) environment.
