Plan Accounting is part of Prudential Investment Management and acts as a shared service providing operations and system support to PGIM, Prudential Retirement and to a limited extent, Group Insurance.  Support pertains to the investment products and services purchased by Institutional clients who are retirement plan sponsors.  Plan Accounting is currently located in Newark, NJ.
 
The Core Accounting team within Plan Accounting has an open position for an Associate Manager. The team collaborates with various business partners from Enabling Solutions, Retirement Operations, Finance, Treasury, and Cash Management.

In conjunction with Prudentials PICA, PRIAC and PruTrust businesses, primary responsibilities of the team include new client set-up, transaction processing, portfolio forecasting, oversight of daily net cash movement among the many products and banking institutions, accounting reconciliations and manages various projects and ad-hoc requests.
 
As an Associate Manager of the Core Accounting team, the candidate will have responsibility for the daily production and deliverables of the staff as well as managing the flow of work and provide efficient and accurate service in accordance with policy and procedures.
 
Roles & Responsibilities:
 Managing the workload of 3-4 accounting associates
 Provide effective staff coaching, identify opportunities for staff development, and provide ongoing performance management
 Facilitate audit support for various internal and external audits
 Support monthly and quarterly financial reporting close periods
 Provide support to staff in researching discrepancies and determining solutions
 Review and approve transactions and wires through the PARIS recordkeeping and Gateway Treasury systems
 Partner with business and operation leaders to implement new business structures and controls
 Respond to business partner account inquires (including client and sales consultants) and resolve complex issues
 Demonstrate and communicate business controls to internal and external business partners
 Seek process improvements in existing processes with a view to improving operational efficiencies including the ability to mitigate errors before they arise.



Qualifications

 3-5 years of Accounting related experience including account reconciliation and analysis
 Bachelors Degree in business, Finance, or Accounting is preferred.
 Candidate requires strong organization skills with the ability to meet established deadlines
 Superior written and verbal communication skills
 Highly motivated with an innovative mindset and an ability to successfully lead and engage a team
 Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
 Needs to demonstrate a strong customer focus
