The Prudential International Insurance (PII) Department has an opening for an Associate Manager position within the Capital Management team and is seeking a self-motivated individual with strong financial analysis and interpersonal skills to join the team.


PII currently supports Prudentials insurance operations outside of the US, which account for roughly half of Prudentials adjusted operating income. In this role, the Associate Manager will have a unique opportunity to develop knowledge of PIIs businesses and strategies, including a variety of capital and liquidity concepts. There will be frequent opportunities to collaborate within the Prudential International Insurance Department, the Treasurers Department and the broader Global Finance Community. 


The responsibilities will include supporting the following functions:


  • Support the enterprise FX hedging program for the foreign currency exposure of Prudentials International businesses.  The Associate Manager will help support the quarterly FX Oversight Council (FXOC) meetings and the preparation and presentation of associated materials

  • Partner with PIIs Emerging Markets region to optimize capital deployment while maximizing returns and supporting risk requirements
    • Review and challenge statutory and US GAAP projections in support of maximizing sustainable Free Cash Flow deployment
    • Analyze, advocate and optimize the emerging capital frameworks most impacting the emerging markets, including International Capital Standard (ICS) and Solvency II
    • Support initiatives designed to optimize risk/return profile of the various legal entities that the Emerging Markets operate in
  • Support M&A initiatives for the International Division of Prudential including capital, liquidity and return analysis
  • Partner with Corporate Treasurers, Controllers, P&A, Portfolio Management and Tax to complete quarterly capital forecast, actual reporting, and various projects.  Main deliverables include preparations of Required Capital, FX hedging, solvency / statutory capital forecast, cash flow analysis, excess capital, and other capital related items
  • Support the enhancement of enterprise risk management frameworks, including Treasury capital and liquidity stress testing frameworks (i.e. Capital Protection Framework and Liquidity Stress Testing)
  • Provide treasury support for the International Division, including corporate finance, capital management, borrowing, liquidity and cash management 

  • Development of related presentations for senior management, rating agencies, regulators and the Finance Committee/Board of Directors


Responsibilities of the position may vary depending on the candidates background, skills, and experience. Other responsibilities include preparation of earnings call materials, various ad hoc requests from local operations and Corporate functions and supporting the forecast process redesign.


  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting is preferred; MBA, CFA and/or CPA a plus
  • 4 years financial related experience (Capital Management/Treasury, FP&A, Investments/ALM, Risk Management)
  • Strong analytical, inter-personal and communication skills
  • High degree of self-motivation, passion to succeed, ownership, attention to detail and innovation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Knowledge of US GAAP, US STAT, or international accounting standards
  • Ability to work through issues independently and as part of a team
  • Multi-tasking and ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of Prudentials financial systems (Obero, Oracle, etc.)
  • Travel is not expected
