About the Team

The SEO team is responsible for driving online traffic through the organic search channel that contributes to our overall traffic and sales goals for Wireless and Internet products & services. We work to develop and execute SEO strategies & tactics, drive synergies across traffic generation channels, deliver new technical capabilities that will impact traffic, and provide analytical insights on traffic reporting data to inform our overall business strategies.

About the Job

We're seeking an experienced Associate Director SEO to drive technical excellence and organic search performance for att.com via a technical SEO roadmap (working directly with an SEO scrum team) and on-page/off-page strategies. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in both technical SEO and search traffic strategies development to guide the SEO team to meet organic search channel business objectives. This candidate knows how to work collaboratively with partner teams and stakeholders to drive initiatives and communicate SEO performance and value to leadership. In this role you will lead the day-to-day optimization work across att.com but also get to flex your strategy muscles and influence the search visibility of a highly recognizable brand.

Responsibilities and Day-to-Day View

Drive strategy and growth. Identify opportunities for organic growth across att.com, including new technical capabilities, ongoing site hygiene maintenance, content development, new product, and page launches.

Collaborate with key stakeholders. Act as the primary liaison between the SEO team and other partner digital teams including platforms, merchandising, offers, and marketing. Communicate strategically and effectively at all levels including with team members, partner and stakeholder teams, and executive leadership. Respond to a fast-paced and often quickly changing work environment and be able to prioritize team tasks and objectives effectively.

Lead and coach. Lead a team of SEO product managers and analysts, foster a culture of continual learning, provide mentorship, and operate as the SEO subject matter expert to the team and stakeholders.

Set and communicate goals. Translate company goals into team targets and then work with the team to meet them. Gather and synthesize input from team members and draft weekly, monthly, and quarterly SEO performance reports for leadership and organizational stakeholders.


Bachelors degree in Advertising, Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field

7+ years of experience in digital marketing and SEO

5+ years managing a team

Deep, hands-on experience implementing successful technical SEO strategies on large enterprise and/or ecommerce sites; technical SEO fluency, including indexation, web vitals and internationalization.

Experience driving direction and alignment with cross-functional teams to develop strategies that meet organizational goals within established timelines.

Experience in diagnosing, isolating, and resolving complex issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.

Experience developing strategic initiatives which align with business goals.

Experience in business analysis and project management.

Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills

Experience in web analytics and the ability to critically analyze search traffic data to identify potential issues with data collection and/or reporting, trends.

Demonstrated experience with Adobe Analytics, Google Search Console, and enterprise -level SEO tools, e.g. BrightEdge, Conductor, Botify, Deepcrawl, ScreamingFrog.

Passion for staying current in a rapidly changing digital landscape.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a large enterprise ecommerce organization.

Experience with telecommunications products and services.

Experience in SEM and fluency in paid search products.

Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript development and constraints.
