TITLE:              Associate Actuary
LOCATION:       Newark, NJ

DUTIES:           Work as part of the Individual Life Actuarial Pricing team responsible for pricing and product design of individual life insurance products. Perform pricing assumption development and modeling of individual life products in AXIS software, peer review and assumption updates in the model, profitability analysis including sensitivity testing, regulatory compliance testing, product rate development and distribution, and development of actuarial materials for state filings. Participate in ad hoc risk analysis projects, model testing, and quarterly product profitability reporting. Responsible for maintaining and supporting pricing tools. Implementation of new reserving standards (e.g., PBR) into Pricing. Support modeling for quarterly reporting of the profitability of new business. Support development and prototyping of new products. Comply with the updated risk and control framework. Comply with reserving and tax standards. 


REQTS:             Must have a Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Risk Management, Insurance, Mathematics or a related field. Must have three (3) years of experience in the offered position as an Associate Actuary, Senior Actuarial Associate, Actuarial Associate, or a related position. Must have three (3) years of experience with: Stochastic equity and interest rate modeling and analysis; Microsoft Excel including VBA; Profitability analysis including sensitivity testing, regulatory compliance testing, product rate development and distribution; US Statutory and GAAP financial reporting; Model governance and incorporation of development model and modeling process documentation; MG-ALFA modeling; and Communication of the analysis results to the management level with documentation, formal memos, and presentations.


HOURS:            Full time; Mon- Fri (37.5 hours/week)
