Mayhill Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented Assessment Counselor. The Assessment Counselor is responsible for assisting in the process of responding to referrals and other requests for services and information. Provides technical assistance to the admission process, under the direction of the Director of Assessment Services andprovides general support to the case management program when facilitating appropriate dispositions adherent to hospital policies and procedures.

Job Requirements

Education: Registered Nurse or Master's Degree in a human relations field.

Experience. Preferably two or more years experience in intake assessment activities within an acute psychiatric setting. A minimum of two (2) years experience in a psychiatric hospital setting including customer contact preferred.

Licensure: Licensed to practice in the State of Texas as a mental health professional.

Additional Requirements: An extensive working knowledge of the DSM-V, ICD-10, and the Mental Status Exam. Additionally, an extensive working knowledge of the Addiction and Recovery field preferred.
