Responsibilities

Develop a training information system for a DOD client. Training system will provide a common operational picture of the training environment in 5 integrated capability areas: Training Development, Training Management, Training Enterprise Scheduling, Learning Content Management, and Training Resource Management. These capabilities will enable the DOD client in planning and preparing for operational, institutional and self-development training.

Performs as an Army Domain senior subject matter expert (SME) for the Army Training / DoD Training. Provides subject matter expertise for Army Training policies, processes and procedures for one or more Army components (Active, Reserve, National Guard). Will gain knowledge of Army training systems and provide input on the configuration of the systems based on training management pertaining to the Army Domains (Individual, Organizational, and Institutional). Will be one of the SMEs that analyze the project requirements/capabilities in order to be able to give a better understanding to the team.

The Senior Subject Matter Expert - Army Domains provides the team an understanding of Army Training policies, processes and procedures throughout the Army within all the COMPOs. Required to document all information and deliver it by prescribed methods to the appropriate personnel. May be required to work with Army personnel to gain understanding of the Army requirements/capabilities and translate them to the needs of DoD Training Customer.

- Maintains currency in understanding of Army Training systems, policies, and procedures. Identifies emerging relevant technologies, and Army Training policies and procedures that may result in improvements to current processes and systems solutions.

- Within Army PM Forums, collaborates with customers to gather information, define complex work problems, and design system solutions and procedures to resolve problems and deliver required capabilities, requirements, and functionality.

- Participates in functional analysis to document complex process steps, tasks and their inter-relationships. This analysis and demonstrations, course of action (COA) analysis, and development and review of associated Program documentation.

- Participates in design and development of functional and technical solutions, and development and review of functional and technical documentation to provide SME input and review.

- Participates in all levels of testing to provide SME validation and recommendations for corrections or improvement.

- Develops and delivers oral presentations, and explains the most complex material in a clear fashion.

- Provides effective direction and guidance to less experienced staff.

Qualifications

- US citizen

- Hold a current Secret clearance or have the ability to obtain one.

- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of tools

- Excellent communication and writing skills

- Sixteen years of experience providing military personnel support to one or more Army components (Active Army, Army National Guard, and Army Reserve) and an understanding of associated training policies and procedures.

- Understanding of Army Training policies, processes and procedures in support of all areas within all components of the Army.

- Experience leading teams.

- Experience preparing and delivering oral presentations.

- Served as officer or NCO in the Army with at least 16 Years of Experience.

-Experience working within TRADOC, Army Schoolhouse, Academy, or Battalion (or higher) echelon

- Experience providing Army training support in a deployed environment.

- Experience providing Army military training support in a classified environment.

- Experience in training development.

- Experience in deploying an Army software system.

- Understanding of the DOD Business Enterprise Architecture (BEA).

- Understanding of Agile software development processes, experience preferred.
