The Application Architect (Solution Architect) is a highly motivated, technical role, responsible for the design and implementation of technologies for Enterprise systems and our internal business partners. The person in this role will lead custom solutions and integrations while collaborating with team members throughout the enterprise and vendors to meet and deliver on technical and business objectives. This candidate will be able to roll up their sleeves and code or debug issues, but most of the focus will be on the architecture and review of solutions that others will implement. Low-code solutions (like PowerApps / Power Automate) might require their implementation. The candidate also builds strong partnerships with other technologists to standardize and align capabilities.


Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions




* Research, evaluate, recommend, design, document, and implement SaaS or custom technical solutions to solve complex problems utilizing technologies that meet or exceed customer requirements.

* Recommend and implement technology standards and best practices, for long-term product delivery and support.

* Leverage existing technologies to satisfy requirements; where necessary, evaluate and recommend new or additional technologies/solutions while remaining aligned to Enterprise Architecture direction.

* Identifies and communicates impact, risk, and requirements gaps and options to resolve.

* Document solutions in technical architecture documents.

* Provide technical leadership and guidance for solutions from early phase proposals through design, code, test, implementation, and support.

* Work with vendors and team to successfully deliver code/systems and establish effective support models.

* Analyze and debug system / code issues if needed.

* Provide effective communications and documentation to others as appropriate.

* Be proactive in building and maintaining productive team, department, and company relationships.

* Provide Subject Matter Expertise over specific areas understanding new product features and roadmaps.

* Provide cross-training and application support if needed.

* Flex in other roles of system delivery life cycle within a team to ensure product and delivery success.


Qualifications: *Required:*




* Bachelors degree in Computer Science / Engineering or equivalent.

* 5+ years progressive experience as a Full Stack Developer and Application/Solution Architect.

* Experience with C#, JavaScript, HTML, SQL databases, REST APIs (usage, development), Cloud

* Demonstrable expert knowledge of current coding best practices, including documentation, repositories, distribution, deployments, testing, automation (deploy/test/systems), and maintenance

* Demonstrable knowledge of core infrastructure concepts and technologies (including networks, Active Directory, SSO, enterprise storage systems, integrations, monitoring, information security).

* Capable of application integration, workflow design, and analytics.

* Demonstrated ability to lead efforts with innovation and self-reliance.

* Must have strong self-motivation and leadership skills with a continuous improvement mindset capable of receiving feedback and adjusting. Maintains a positive/friendly attitude and a desire to help.

* Requires little to no direction to accomplish tasks. Contributes to setting direction for projects and tasks.

* Outstanding verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to effectively and succinctly articulate complex concepts to either business, management, or technology teams.

* Strong organizational and analytical skills.

* Demonstrated ability to meet project deadlines on a consistent basis with quality solutions/products.

* Ability to identify and understand complex issues and propose solutions.

* Ability to quickly adapt to a changing environment and changes in deadlines and priorities.

* Highly adept at handling multiple tasks and/or projects concurrently.

* Adept at learning complex new applications or business functional areas, and discerning business requirements with possible solutions accordingly.

* Quick learner and following emerging technologies related to profession.



*Preferred:*




* 5+ years experience architecting, designing, developing, and deploying Enterprise Applications and custom solutions

* Capable developing low-code solutions using Microsoft 365 - SharePoint, PowerApps, Power Automate.

* Frontend and backend development experience.

* Familiar with SaaS solutions and Cloud platforms: Azure and/or AWS

* Familiar with other software languages: Java, Node.js.

* Experience working closely with and managing software vendors and IT service providers.

* Experience delivering software using Agile development methodologies.

* Interest in developing knowledge around specific business areas, and how systems can be used to solve business problems in those business areas

* Ability to write requirements, test plans, statement of work, and help in other areas of the project delivery if needed.
