The Role

The AppDynamics Business Development Representative (BDR) is focused on accelerated development of high potential talent. The difference between the AppDynamics BDR team is the defined promotion path that consists of

  1. Earning the right to interview.
  2. Developing the skills needed for the next role.
  3. Building an internal champion to sponsor you.

    As a BDR, you will be supporting our most strategic customers and top enterprise reps.

    The core focus of the role is Pipeline Generation (PG). Your goal is to use the AppDynamics PG Playbook to consistently generate new opportunities by using a combination of Target Account Prospecting best practices including social selling, VITO campaigns, and a tight partnership with marketing. Beyond PG, you will also assist in some basic account, opportunity, and channel management to help prepare you for the next role in enterprise selling.

    The Team

    Working in an individual contributor position within a high-energy team of regional sales managers and representatives who have a track record of significant overachievement. Pipeline generation is the lifeblood of our operation and in joining this team you must possess that same drive to uncover new opportunities as part of your daily operating rhythm. While exceptionally hardworking, the team retains a significant focus on personal and professional development, therefore we will only seek individuals wishing to grow and develop their careers.

    About You

    You have sales experience. Ideally, that experience is in a high-pace, enterprise technology culture, but if not, thats okay (but come prepared with a clear story on why you want to transition into tech sales). A highly driven, intelligent, hungry, and coachable individual. It would be great if you have experience with systems like Salesforce, LinkedIn, and Outreach.io. Youve had some level of exposure to the core tenants of value-based selling: identifying pain points, building champions, and business outcomes.

    • Experience; at least 1-2 years in a similar role with an ambition to take the next step prior to moving into a quota-carrying role.
    • Software experience is not 100% necessary but desirable.
    • Strong storytelling ability with qualification techniques.
    • Excellent communication skills- clear and concise
    • Highly driven, intelligent, hungry, and coachable.
