AppDynamics - Sales Engineer Team Lead

About the Role

The SE Team Lead works closely with the SE Manager to assist in providing direction and specialist knowledge for a team applying technology to clients business needs while continuing to individually support strategic clients.  A key focus is to assist and mentor presales resources throughout the sales cycle while providing technical/functional leadership to the sales team in the development and implementation of customer solutions. Additionally the SE Team Lead may serve as the company liaison on specific internal and customer facing projects. This role is a leadership role in the field however carries no HR related people management responsibilities including:

  • Plan, Assist and Mentor your team with onboarding and personal development enablement to improve overall skills and competencies
  • Develop a team culture of driven individuals who collaborate and support each other, and their sales colleagues
  • Partner with the sales team and extended stakeholders to help the business achieve revenue goals through the presales teams active contribution to the sales cycle
  • Continuously develop your own skills and competencies

Key Qualifications &Technical Competencies

  • 3-5 years Java, .Net, PHP, Python, JavaScript, SQL programming skills
  • Unix or Linux command line shell script
  • Windows command prompts
  • Prior APM and Enterprise Monitoring experience
  • Advanced Cloud computing and container experience
  • Complex Technical Project Management
  • Minimum 2 years pre-sales experience with a recognized aptitude for people management
  • Recognized as a top performer
  • Strong academic background in technology and business leadership
  • Ability to be hands-on with deep technical expertise
  • Analytical skills and the ability to recognize the demands on the side of the customer

Key Performance Indicators

  • Revenue goals met for current / previous Fiscal Year
  • Individual and Team Enablement goals achieved
  • Demonstrated ability to execute large complex sales campaigns
  • Strong relationship with sales, including firmness and resolve to achieve goals in complex situations
  • Strong relationship with Product Management, Support, Services and Customer Success Organizations
  • Ownership of escalations, critical projects and customer outcomes
  • Internal and External leader, senior customer facing representation and conference keynote speaking
