The Product Manager, Variable Annuity (VA) Market Management will be responsible for supporting ideation and the development of solutions that maximize the value of our suite of currently sold products and in force book of business.  This includes promoting sales growth, managing risk (both financial and operational) and improving client experience.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead large and strategically significant cross-functional projects
  • Partner with leadership to develop business cases related to currently sold and existing variable annuities
  • Become an expert on our existing suite of variable products, and influence direction based upon insights from our in force block, competitive intelligence and secondary research as well as other proactive market analysis
  • Assist in the definition of short and long-term strategy and deliverables for existing products as well as our in force block of business
  • Perform in-depth data analysis of trends within our existing book of business to identify risks and opportunities
  • Manage and continuously improve processes for producing and actively monitoring variable annuity metrics and business results
  • Develop launch plans and strategy for new initiatives impacting existing products
  • Develop and maintain effective communication skills, including executive presence, and delivering complex ideas to various levels within the organization
  • Respectfully challenge existing processes and norms to arrive at refreshed business views and updated methodologies 
  • Will consider remote locations


  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of experience in financial services
  • Success in developing and implementing strategic business cases
  • Continuous Improvement or process optimization experience
  • Exceptional collaboration skills and ability to partner with a wide variety of other functions and levels including Sales, Operations, IT, Control functions, Investment Management, Marketing and Actuarial functions
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication/presentation skills
  • Approach work with intellectual curiosity and transparency with an openness to giving and receiving feedback
  • Self-motivated, proactive and visionary leadership, thinking beyond functional responsibilities to broader business strategy
  • Highly organized and adept at handling multiple, changing priorities
  • Skilled at resolving conflict and negotiating effectively and tactfully
  • Proven strong attention to detail and follow-through skills
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to perform and communicate the results of complex data analysis
