Job Description

The Accounting Operations team supporting the U.S. Concentrate business is seeking a candidate for an Accounting Operations Senior Analyst role. Qualified candidates must have strong accounting, analytical, communication and organizational skills.

The Concentrate Accounting Operations Senior Analyst is primarily responsible for inputting and maintaining all concentrate kit pricing and material cost standards in SAP, monitoring inventory (particularly in-transit from Ireland), recording inventory reserves, calculating transfer pricing to affiliates and communicating financial results to senior management on a periodic basis.

This role will interact with foreign and domestic manufacturing sites, FP&A, distribution centres, material planners and the accounts payable teams in both Plano, TX and Chennai, India.
  • Manage period, quarter and annual closing ensuring pricing, costing and inventory are accurately reported
  • Monitoring of all concentrate shipments from foreign plants ensuring accurate reporting of in-transit inventory at period end
  • Prepare period-end journal entries
  • Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Monitor balance sheet risk and opportunities on a period basis
  • Ensure baseline reporting is accurate and timely
  • GCS controls and all required quarterly SOX reporting
  • Improve controls and communication to accurately track inventory reserves
  • Partner with Planning during AOP to manage annual COGS standard updates
  • Partner with foreign manufacturing plants and U.S. distribution centres

Qualifications/Requirements

  • 6 7 years of progressive experience in accounting
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting
  • CPA preferred or some experience in public accounting
  • Cost accounting experience in a prior role is a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in using enterprise financial systems (SAP preferred)
  • Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite. Advanced MS Excel knowledge (i.e., use of VLOOKUP, logic statements, use of pivot tables)
  • A proven ability to work well in a team environment across functions and interact effectively with all levels of personnel
