Maintains and analyzes complex accounting information for management purposes including developing manual and automated accounting applications based on the need for financial management information. Clearly articulates business issues with recommended solutions in the context of a fast-paced and high-growth $10 billion company.

Primary Responsibilities:

    ""
  • Create and refresh monthly reporting for the purposes of analyzing financial data at a granular level according to the monthly close schedule
  • ""
  • Identify financial variances, determine cause of variances and corrective action. Prepare appropriate entries to ensure financial integrity and/or determine any process change needed
  • ""
  • Assists independent auditors with interim and year end financial audits. Assists with preparation of tax returns, tax audits, and other corporate reporting requirements
  • ""
  • Coordinates/assist on more complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting and finance teams, as well as other departments
  • ""
  • Identify solutions to non-standard requests and problems. Solves complex problems and conducts complex analyses
  • ""
  • Provide explanations and information to others on difficult issues, translating concepts into practice
  • ""
  • Acts as a resource for others
  • ""
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

    ""
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field (4 additional years of comparable work experience beyond the required years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelors degree)
  • ""
  • 4+ years of progressive experience with accounting responsibilities within a major company or division of a large corporation
  • ""
  • Experience working collaboratively and influencing several departments for successful management initiatives
  • ""
  • Knowledge of research techniques for analyzing data and presenting recommendations
  • ""
  • Experience performing mathematical computations, and compute ratios/percentages, along with analytical and problem-solving experience
  • ""
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • ""
  • You will be asked to perform this role in an office setting or other company location
  • ""
  • Employees are required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener prior to entering the work site each day, in order to keep our work sites safe.
