ADP is hiring an Accountant. The Accountant is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate balancing, regulatory compliance and defect/exception resolution and prevention on all Client Fund Related activities, balances and accounts, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of all U.S. Client fund money movement. Recommend and comply with accounting policies and regulatory statutes, which support overall business goals of the Company. Ensure that adequate internal controls are communicated and adhered to in all Balancing & Control processes. Represent Trust Accounting on audits, projects and initiatives for business alignment and ensure department objectives are maintained.

  • Responsible for maintaining the integrity of all bank, G/L and system accounts.
  • Responsible for resolving, preventing and reporting defects//exceptions
  • Provide necessary training to Associates
  • Demonstrate critical thinking, analytical thinking and collaboration skills and the understanding of potential impacts of complex issues impacting the business
  • Responsible for Regulatory Compliance requirements
  • Minimum of 1 year work related business/accounting/operations experience
Specifically, the Trust Accounting (TA) - Accountant position is responsible for the reconciliation and balancing of accounts through the use of systems and reports in accordance with policies and procedures. The position requires a high level of accuracy to minimize financial exposure and or client impact, general banking knowledge, and research and reconciliation experience. On a daily basis, the Accountant will interact with internal and external partners and banks. The Accountant requires strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with various levels of the organization. The Accountant will be required to train internal partners as needed and facilitate and or present at meetings.
  • Manage assigned reconciliations
  • Identify, assess, and resolve issues and out-of-balances
  • Possess effective problem solving analysis and resolution skills
  • Explain, document, and summarize issues
  • Communicate and collaborate with internal and external partners and banks
  • Cross-train on products and functions
  • Project participation and support
  • Maintain working knowledge of systems, databases, and applications
  • Retain up-to-date knowledge of assigned accounts, projects, and products
  • Maintain an effective and cohesive working relationship with peers and management.
  • Adhere to Audit and Control policies, procedures, and controls
  • Participate and collaborate in team building and engagement activities
  • Possibility of limited travel to other ADP offices

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Preference will be given to candidates who have the following:
  • Accounting or Business (with some accounting courses) degree preferred
  • 2-3 years of related experience
  • Ability to create Ad-hoc reports 
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office based applications, to include Access
  • Analytical with the ability to think out of the box
  • General understanding of Reconciliations, T-Accounts and Accounting
  • Practical experience with Reconciliation, Accounting, Financial Transaction Processing and/or Banking
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision and keep supervision informed
  • Ability to develop and implement process improvements with proven methodologies.
  • Ability to drive special projects to a successful completion and contribute in meetings
