Sodexo is seeking an Accountant to join our FSS Revenue Accounting Department located in Cheektowaga (Buffalo) NY. This position will report directly into a Senior Manager of Accounting and will not have any direct reports. We are looking for 2-4 years of work experience, preferred experience in retail knowledge, strong excel and customer service experience. This individual will support all segments and work directly with Units to trouble shoot and resolve Retail Accounting needs as well as reconcile Unit Managed Retail Programs and App balance sheet accounts, assist with special projects and provide customer service assistance for the units they serve. 

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Work proactively with units to detect, correct and prevent on going reporting problems ensuring proper revenue recognition with focus on root cause elimination.
• Reconciliation of Assigned General Ledger Accounts
• Assist with the successful update and maintenance of Revenue Accounting System changes to ensure proper functionality and system documentation
• EPOS reconciliation
• Enterprise Revenue Audits
• Documenting and training of new Unit programs and initiatives
• Perform ad-hoc analysis or special projects as needed.
• Back up Sales Audit & Balance Sheet accountant responsibilities

Position Summary

Assists in the maintenance of accounting policies and controls, fiscal controls, preparing financial reports and safeguarding the organization's assets. Maintains accounting and financial records and reports, including general ledger, financial statements, regulatory and management reports. Performs routine assignments. Has conceptual knowledge of theories, practices and procedures in own discipline typically acquired through a college or university degree or the equivalent work experience. Develops competence by performing structured work assignments. Uses existing procedures to solve routine or standard problems. Receives instruction, guidance and direction from more senior level roles.
