Our overall goal is to identify, plan and execute business engagements with big public customers in order to support their digitalization efforts from strategy to execution and lead the engagement into a sales opportunity for Cisco.  The Account Manager is part of our public sales team and plays a key role to support the digitalization-initiatives in public sector. His focus will be state owned it-service-providers for government customers, he understands their business needs and regulatory requirements and he discusses their position in context of multi-cloud and on-premise environments and he defines the architecture for their next generation IT-fabric in their data-center. The Account Manager positions Ciscos solutions to solve our customers business needs. You will work in a team with experienced AMs with the responsibility to define and execute Ciscos strategy for state and local government authorities.

 

What You'll Do


Your mission will be to sell Cisco Solutions in Public Sector with focus on data-center accounts. You will develop the accounts and relationships at the highest levels, address Cisco solutions in this domain, develop a partner eco-system and drive, forecast and close business outcome. You will own and nurture the relationships and build specific sales strategies for DC-departments. Your success will reflect in sales achievements, long-term customer relationships and satisfaction. Hitting personal targets and contributing to overall profitability, success and positive image of Cisco in the marketplace.

In this job, you will, 

  • Understand the responsibilities of the customer within government and administration
  • Understand customers business drivers, regulatory environment, code of business conduct, external influencers and current market development and trends in Public Sector
  • Become familiar with your customers customer and the business-outcome he has to deliver
  • Build strong relationships to sales- and solution-partners
  • Translate customers needs into potential solutions using Cisco products and services
  • Develop customer relationships and gain understanding of their vision, strategy and needs around digitization and system architectures
  • Identify potential opportunities in the area of data center (Compute, DC-Networking, DC-Software, Cloud) security and software sales.
  • Plan long-term engagements and get the buy-in of all other internal and external stakeholders for the engagement
  • Build and manage a pipeline of opportunities including forecasting against quota
  • Focus on an outstanding customer experience and become your customers trusted advisor.
  • Work together very closely with the established sales teams for state and local government. Primary focus would be the states of Brandenburg, Saxony and Thuringia, other areas might be added.

Who you are:


A passionate salesperson with at least 5 years of expertise in following areas:


  • Sales with public sector customers and proven wins of large engagements.
  • Large RFPs and frame agreements in public sector. Knowledge of special public regulations.
  • Software sales, data-center, cloud services, security projects
  • Ability to create a big picture and to transfer this into concrete Cisco opportunities
  • Solid understanding in how to interact with service delivery and sales
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Proven experience with system integrators for public sector solutions
  • Understand customers business drivers, regulatory environment, code of business conduct,
  • Knowing external influencers and current market developments and trends in public sector.
  • Solid understanding and experience in management of all aspects of sales support processes
  • Solid knowledge in developing, managing and forecasting a pipeline of opportunities using SFDC

Desired Skills


  • University degree, preferably in engineering, computer science, natural sciences or economics
  • Demonstrated experience with solution selling in Public Sector
  • Proven knowledge in building and providing segment specific solutions, focused on Software sales, data-center, cloud services
  • Experience in dealing with frame contracts and internal public service providers
  • Strongly crosslinked with the German public community
  • Develop and deliver accurate sales forecasts in line with business objectives 
  • Balanced capability to work together with teams and act self-managed
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English and German
