Dealertrack, a brand of Cox Automotive, is currently looking for a UX Research Intern to join our Engineering team in North Hills, NY


Responsibilities:




* Identify and execute research based on analysis of existing product designs, business needs, project goals, and risks.

* Continuously gather knowledge about customers (Internal and external) through various channels (e.g. shadowing operations teams, customer interviews/feedback.)

* Design and conduct user research studies, including surveys, in-depth interviews, and concept/prototype testing.

* Analyze, synthesize and present findings to all stakeholders with clarity and agility using a combination of various user feedback and research tools and your own methodologies.

* Communicate findings and opportunities in clear, concise, and compelling ways to stakeholders.

* Foster collaboration with designers, product managers, marketers, and operations to translate insights into actionable recommendations that inform execution.



During this time you will:




* Become acquainted with our products, the product goals, and those you will work closely with.

* Independently start to study and learn the Partner product suite.

* Start shadowing key operational teams

* Start participating in User Research Calls.




Qualifications:

* Currently studying for a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other Technology degree. For Under Grad students, must be a rising junior or rising senior level (at least 2 years college completed). Graduate students in a technology degree may also apply.

* Solid understanding of best practices for conducting research (qualitative and quantitative) in user experience, product design, or technology contexts. Bonus points if you have done this remotely in the past.

* Strong analytical and synthesis skills with a proven ability to turn research results into product insights.

* Strong understanding of statistical concepts and how to apply them in the context of user experience research.

* Self-motivated and execution oriented. Ability to execute at a high level of quality in a fast-paced, complex environment.

* Ability to create compelling presentations and confidently convey insights through storytelling.

* Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence a range of audiences.

* Ability to work independently and take initiative to solve problems.

* Experience conducting remote research is considered a plus.



Internship Criteria:




* Internship is not eligible for sponsorship

* Preference is given to rising Seniors, Juniors and Masters students (Dec 2021, May 2022 or May 2023 graduates)

* Field of study relevant to role

* Ability to work approximately 10 weeks over summer months

* Ability to work remotely
