POSITION SUMMARY:

The Help Desk Supervisor is responsible for the ongoing, effective operation of the IS Help Desk area in providing daily supports for end users and IS operations. Such responsibilities encompass not only the internal functioning of the department, but also the integration of these services into the overall functioning of Northwest Texas Healthcare System. The Help Desk Supervisor supports an organizational culture for Service Excellence and practices the Service Excellence Standards to all customer groups.   Responsible for the Help Desk team including personnel management and development, work schedule, day-to-day operations and management of the help desk, supports for end users and IS operations. Implements policies and procedures regarding how problems are identified, received, documented, distributed, and corrected. Evaluates new information systems products or services and suggests changes to existing products or services to better aide the end user.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE AND LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:

1. Associate degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or closely related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience required.

2. Minimum of 3 years experience in managing IT operations/help desk

3. Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience configuring, installing, and managing of PC hardware / software in a Microsoft network environment is required.

4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or closely related field

• Healthcare experience and knowledge of business/clinical systems

• Knowledge of MS Access, Crystal Report and other report writer

• A+, Network+ or other equivalent certifications

 

Physical and Sensory Requirements:

1. Ability to read and write in English

2. Ability to speak and hear, to allow discussions with employees and peers.

3. Ability to cope with and remain calm under stress

4. Ability to respond to pages

5. Ability to evaluate and interpret information and make independent decisions

6. Bending and lifting (10 - 70 lbs), grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling.

7. Ability to understand and interpret financial data
