What You'll Do

We need a self-motivated individual that is excited to work with ever-evolving state of the art technology in the big data field. You will help automate and support a variety of technologies, with the goal of ensuring that production platforms are meeting availability and performance targets. Your work will enable organizations across Cisco to use data at scale.

Who You'll Work With

As a member of the Threat Intelligence Platform team, you'll be part of a highly empowered collaborative group who's passionate about using data to help secure Cisco, enable security products, and develop security research.

Who You Are

You are a self-starter who your teammates can depend on being calm, consistent, and systematic in supporting and automating production platforms. You also have strong troubleshooting skills and experience in an agile environment. As a result, clients and data engineers can rely on the platforms being there when they need it.

At minimum, we expect you to have:

  • BS degree preferably in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • 3-5+ years of experience as a site reliability engineer or DevOps engineer with experience in development focusing on platform automation and monitoring.
  • You should also have an understanding of infrastructure, including networking and provisioning Cisco UCS servers.
  • Experience working with containerization/virtualization technologies, such as Docker, Kubernetes, vSphere, etc).
  • Ideally, you are also well versed in the use of configuration management and CI/CD tools like Ansible and GitLab.
  • You should also be familiar with on-premises and cloud-based monitoring tools like DataDog and Prometheus.

The following would be beneficial, but not required:

  • Some experience with a combination of our core technologies: Hadoop (MapR), Spark, Kafka, and Clickhouse.
