Post-Doctoral Fellowship


Garfield Park Behavioral Hospital is accepting applications for one post-doctoral fellowship in Clinical Psychology for the 2018-2019 training year. The position provides the opportunity for enhancement of the fellow’s clinical, supervisory, and administrative skills. The fellowship carries a competitive stipend of $40,000.00. The start date for the positions is August of 2018.

The post-doctoral fellow will be actively involved in the supervision of pre-doctoral practicum students, as well as in program development and administration. In addition, the fellow will engage in direct delivery of psychotherapy and diagnostic services across the continuum of care, including outpatient services. The post-doctoral fellow will work directly with patients who are Department of Child and Family Services (DCFS) wards of the state.  The post-doctoral fellow will also provide outpatient services at one of the affiliated outpatient clinics.

Job Requirements


Applicants must have completed a minimum of a 2,000 hour internship in clinical psychology, and have been awarded their doctoral degree by the start date. With completion of their doctoral degree, completion of their dissertation is also required by the start date. Applicants should possess strong diagnostic and therapy skills and a desire to further develop their clinical abilities. They should also demonstrate leadership qualities, strong verbal and writing skills, and the ability to work independently. Applicants should have a vested interest in furthering their administrative skills, including but not limited to program developmental and assuring students are compliant with all hospital protocols.  Applicants should also possess a strong desire to work directly with doctoral practicum students and to provide secondary supervision to diagnostic, therapy, and advanced therapy students.
