Parkwood Behavioral Health System has provided behavioral health and chemical dependency services to the Mid-South region since 1987. We are located in DeSoto County, in the uppermost northwest corner of Mississippi and approximately 7 miles south of Memphis. Parkwood Behavioral Health System includes a 148-bed inpatient acute and residential care facility, as well as partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs.Needs Assessor We are currently seeking a Needs Assessor to work on as needed (PRN) basis to provide telephone and walk-in risk assessment and crisis intervention, initial contact with referral sources and potential patients, coordinates the referral and intake process, determines appropriate level of care, facilitates the admission process including insurance pre-certification and maintains communication with referral sources, families, patients and unit staff.This opportunity offers the following: - Challenging and rewarding work environment - Growth and development opportunities within UHS and its subsidiaries - Competitive Compensation
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate competency in the criteria listed in this job description. The specifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability to meet the minimum requirements for this position. Staff must demonstrate knowledge and skill in provision of services to varied population of patients in an inpatient and partial hospital setting.
Education: Master’s Degree required in a behavioral health field.
Experience: Prefer prior intake, assessment, admission and crisis intervention experience with a psychiatric mental health population, preferably in an inpatient setting
Licensure/Certification: N/A
Knowledge: Prefer knowledge of crisis intervention and risk assessment, psychiatric diagnoses, basic chemical dependency, age specific growth and development and crisis and behavior management.
