You should have at least 5 years of commercial and corporate experience obtained at a top law firm practice, or multinational corporate legal department. We require motivated, self-reliant individuals with the ability to work within a large team and experience representing, or working for, large multinational corporations. You have a highly commercial approach and thrive in a sales environment. Excellent written and verbal skills in English are needed; fluency in French and Arabic will be considered a plus.

Desired Skills:

  • Adaptability. You are comfortable working in a dynamic environment and demonstrate the ability to successfully handle frequent changes in priorities, deadlines, and workload.
  • Business/Legal Knowledge. You have direct work experience which provides an understanding of most relevant contracting principles and Cisco business environment and experience applying this knowledge to contracting activities and to find legal creative solutions to problems presented.
  • Communication and Influence. You have strong communication skills, including the ability to professionally and concisely communicate (in writing and verbally) complex legal and business issues with senior staff both inside and outside the company.
  • Continuous Learning. It is most important that you have a track record demonstrating the capacity and strong desire to learn new things and quickly apply that knowledge to specific tasks. We are looking for well-developed skill levels coupled with an appetite to continue to learn new and improve existing key competencies.
  • Critical Thinking. You have a track record of conducting a careful and thoughtful analysis of complex legal and business agreements and the ability to weigh and articulate the risk and reward of various scenarios in a business-friendly manner.
  • Organisational Abilities. You have well-developed organisational and prioritisation abilities allowing for the smooth and simultaneous management of multiple projects with complex and demanding deadlines.
  • Relationship Management. You have successfully operated in a matrix team setting and have been able to foster strong relationships with clients, support team members, suppliers, partners and/or customers.

Legal skills:

  • Detailed knowledge and experience on all types of technology contract issues including intellectual property, software licensing, data protection and security, international and national export-import regulations and complex negotiations
  • Experience supporting a multi-jurisdictional region within Africa and the Middle East
  • Experience contracting with public/state-run entities, in one or more jurisdictions.

Experience with managed services, cloud, and outsourcing-type arrangements also desired.
  • Understand and work according to the commercial pressures of a sales business.
  • Be prepared when needed to give advice that is urgent at speed.
  • Be able to work and advise on ambiguous and dynamic situations.
  • Focus on how to get things done rather than how not to. Bring the attitude of an enabler rather than a block to business.
  • Experience of lease, loan and other technology asset financing (particularly within a financing captive) would be a plus.

General Business skills:

  • You concisely and persuasively convey ideas both in writing and verbally.
  • You understand corporate structure and organisation charts.
