Position Description:

Position Purpose

Customer Service Coordinators are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of inbound and outbound product/loads; communicating with merchants and vendors; as well as answering Home Depot store phone calls to assist store associates with open purchase order (PO) research.  Individuals in this position must work cooperatively with other Associates and productively with little supervision. Following Home Depot safety policies and procedures is of great importance to this position.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Follow Home Depot safety policies and procedures and encourage other Associates to do the same
  • Add, subtract, and calculate quantities of merchandise
  • Trouble shoot vendor ASN’s, as well as vendor and receiver discrepancies
  • Monitor dock shipping and handling procedures
  • Contact vendors/Merchants to track PO status and responds to store inquiries on truck shipping and delivery schedules, delivery status and special requests
  • Administrative duties and data entry
  • Work cooperatively and productively with Department Heads and other Associates in order to complete tasks
  • Work productively (i.e., receiving products, picking products, etc.) with little supervision
  • Provide and inspire outstanding service to customers (i.e., stores, etc.) by maintaining attention to detail and completing assigned work in a timely manner
  • Maintain condition of work area (i.e., free of trash, product in correct location, etc.)
  • Audit the quality of inbound and outbound trailer loads
  • Measure the accuracy of the third party logistics provider (3PL)
  • Resolve unmatched transfer report
  • Facilitate RTV’s
  • Insure RF scanning equipment is operational
  • Additional duties as assigned by Transit Facility Management

Nature and Scope

  • Typically reports to Department Head
  • No direct reports
  • Typically has little contact outside work group
  • Typically assignments are very specific
  • Typically refers to basic instructions when solving problems
  • Typically, guidance is always available and prior permission is required before changing work methods.

Environmental Job Requirements

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area.
  • Under regular pressure to meet deadlines and/or quotas and/or must frequently deal with difficult issues related to people or situations.
  • Due to forklifts and other heavy equipment travelling through the DistributionCenter, temporary cracks may appear in the floor, causing uneven walking surface.
  • The warehouse environment can be dusty and noisy, and can experience interior temperature changes.


ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be eighteen years of age or older
  • Must pass pre-employment tests if applicable
  • Education Required - Minimal or no educational requirement for this job
  • Years of Relevant Work Experience – 1
  • Physical Job Requirements - Most all of the time is spent sitting in the same position or standing/walking or there is some requirement to lift or handle material or equipment of moderate weight (8-20 pounds)

Preferred Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred
  • Previous store receiving experience preferred

  • Foundation Skills:  Ability to understand written material and ability to write using correct spelling and punctuation; ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using fractions and decimals.
