We have an opening for an experienced Executive Chef 1 for a very busy campus Resident Dining program at Southside dining hall, serving over 2500 meals a day. This individual will assist the Executive Chef 2 in overseeing a dedicated work force in providing high quality and diverse services on a very busy campus. Responsibilities will include: Food production, inventory, training and development of team, performance monitoring, safety / sanitation, trouble shooting, cost controls, labor management, and active participation in improving our delivery through customer service.


The ideal candidate will have:

  • a culinary degree from an accredited institution,
  • culinary experience - preferably on a college or university,
  • financial acumen,
  • commitment to sustainability,
  • creativity that has no boundaries to improving our program,
  • dedication to providing the highest level of service to our guests
  • excellent client relation skills.
  • a proactive hands-on approach that is able to set standards and follow through on meeting those expectations.

Position Summary

Provides culinary leadership within a small sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training.  Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through executionKey Duties-Executes the culinary function-Customer & Client satisfaction-Manages food & physical safety program.


Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree Basic Management Experience - 2 years Basic Functional Experience 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
