Job Description

::Therapist of IOP Services is responsible for performing a variety of clinical duties that include but are not limited to coordination of services with referral sources and therapists inside and outside of the agency. Will be responsible for group, individual, and family treatment modalities; to include performing thorough and accurate psychosocial evaluations, develop and implement master treatment plans, and providing for appropriate discharge planning/aftercare referrals.  The IOP Therapist demonstrates the ability to effectively communicate with both clients and staff.  He or she demonstrates the ability to prioritize the multiple demands of the position and are able to accurately follow instructions.  They understand the documentation requirements and complete these requirements in a timely fashion.  Excellent judgment and clinical skills are essential for this position.  Must possess knowledge of developmental stages of children, adolescents and adults, and the social, cultural, environmental influences on both patient and family member.  Is responsible for their own clinical growth through the attendance of in-services, presentations, and other continuing education activities.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  Masters or Doctoral degree in human relations or clinical field such as social work, psychology, or marriage and family counseling.  A license or certification in a specialized field is required i.e. (LCSW, LPCC, LMFT etc.).  The individual must possess licensure/certification that is recognized by the Commonwealth of Kentucky for independent practice.  At least two years working in a human service organization with inpatient or outpatient psychiatric or chemical dependency populations is strongly preferred, although not required.

REASONING ABILITY:  Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.  Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.  Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.  Ability to communicate on an effective level with both clients and staff from a variety of disciplines.
