Job Description

::The Clinical Systems Analyst (EMR) is responsible for all EMRs within the given market utilized by the employed physician practices. This includes but is not limited to: evaluating new practices per established guidelines, maintaining all practice EMRs in accordance with corporate policies and procedures, training of all new physicians and associates, developing training documentation, evaluating the EMR performance of staff and developing additional training as necessary, keeping current with new features and enhancements and training staff accordingly, analyzing and implementing policies and procedures governing all electronic data entry through the employed physician practices, implementing, training and monitoring the Meaningful Use guidelines, and working with physicians on a regular basis to develop better workflows.

Job Requirements

::

Knowledge:

  • Physician Office business operation or practice management experience required.

  • Strong knowledge of Physician Office business practices, clinical workflows, concepts and terminology sufficient to implement or support IT applications.

     

    Skills:

  • Significant experience in clinical workflow using IT Systems.

  • Comprehensive working knowledge of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and practice management solution. computer systems analysis and programming techniques and procedures, including:

    • Consulting with users to determine hardware, software or system functional specifications;

    • Analysis, design, development, of educational documentation of operational system and workflow design.  

    • System application implementation, enhancement and support methods and practices.

  • Working knowledge of clinic operational standards and quality methods and metrics.

  • Working knowledge of project management methods.

  • Language proficiency in English, with excellent written and verbal fluency. 

     

Internal Relationships: 

  • Maintains relationships with Corporate IS personnel, Customer Support Center personnel, Hospital IS support staff, medical group users, physicians or providers, Corporate Quality Management staff, and Corporate financial and/or clinical managers regarding system enhancements, implementation and support issues and tasks.

     

    External Relationships:

  • Maintains contact with primary and secondary vendor technical and functional personnel regarding application capabilities and tasks regarding implementation, enhancement and support.

     

    License or Registration Requirements:

  • None

    Travel Requirements: 0-10% domestic US travel (depending on projects).

Job Functions

Demonstrates knowledge of computer systems, fax, copier, scanners

Provides on-going EMR/Cerner training classes for the physicians and employees

Assesses Cerner end-user training needs, develops training plan and documentation.

Works with physicians routinely to develop Cerner templates and improve workflows.

Works with office supervisors to review policies and improve workflows. 

Ensures EMR/Cerner is current and all computer equipment is fully functional.

Demonstrates a firm understanding of Meaningful Use guidelines.

Monitors compliance of end users with HIPPA regulations.

Maintains knowledge through continuing professional development courses, activities and affiliations.

Obtains/maintains knowledge of medical terminology sufficient to review and develop EMR/Cerner.

Demonstrates knowledge of medical record regulations and laws.

Successfully installs and implements EMR in new locations.

Knowledge of computer systems, process design, terminology and various software applications

Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with staff, patients and the public.

Identifies and resolves problematic situations.

Motivates and monitors employee understanding of EMR/Cerner.

Maintains strong analytical and creative problem solving skills.

Maintains strong presentation and group facilitation skills.

Knowledgeable in educational methods, instructive strategies within current scope of practice.

Performs other duties as required and assigned.
