SummitRidge Hospital provides quality behavioral health and addiction treatment services in Lawrenceville, GA, approximately 30 miles northeast of downtown Atlanta. Our dedicated team of professionals provide caring and professional inpatient, outpatient and support services to adults and adolescents suffering from psychiatric or addictive disorders. Additionally, the Geriatric unit provides acute care for seniors in psychiatric crisis.  Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Cook. The Cook/Baker of the Nutrition services department is responsible for preparation, distribution, and storage of food services as assigned.  Work includes quality meal production and clean up within established hospital policies and procedures to ensure the maintenance of sanitary pantry area and kitchen facilities.

Position Tasks include but are not limited to:         

  1. Prepare all meals, soup for patients and cafeteria, special diet items and breads, special functions per assignment sheets.

  2. Meet preparation deadlines as needed,

  3. Set-up patient line and cafeteria.

  4. Insure that the food temperatures are proper and accurate.

  5. Food item in proper service pans for delivery to all areas.

  6. Verify and prepare all write-ins.

  7. Do next day’s pre-prep items.

  8. Back-up cafeteria and patient trayline.

  9. Clean assigned equipment and work areas.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • Culinary School or Vocational Culinary School Preferred

  • Minimum 5 years experience Cooking or Baking.Experience must include preparing meals for large quantities

  • Hospital Food Service desirable
