The Global Communications team directs external communications efforts to ensure the company's messages are aligned and delivered in accordance with Prudential’s goals and policies. To best partner with our PGIM business, we are expanding our team to help shape and serve PGIM's global footprint and overall differentiation in the marketplace.

 

Reporting to VP, Global Communications – PGIM, this position is responsible for developing and executing strategic communications campaigns powered by markets intelligence and media insight.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Manages strategic external communications planning and earned media campaigns.

  • Identifies and leverages macro trends to inform and position appropriate business narratives and creates multi-layered communications plans to amplify these narratives across the right mix of traditional, social, digital and earned media. 

  • Uses business and product fluency to uncover differentiated media angles of interest for pitches. 

  • Advises the businesses on messaging and shareable content assets. 

  • Translates content outputs and plans to incorporate internal communications strategies, where appropriate.

  • Enables and encourages cross-pollination of best communications practices with colleagues.

  • Builds relationships with external influencers. Serves as a spokesperson as needed.


  • Bachelor’s degree in any field of academic rigor, advanced degree a plus.
  • 8 years of communications experience; PR/Communications agency experience preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of asset management and/or financial services industries, culture and corresponding client profile; experience in following asset classes an advantage; public equities, public and private fixed income, real estate, and structured products.
  • International experience a plus.
  • Impeccable writing and editing skills.
  • News judgement and media relations experience.
  • Ability to discern and capitalize on creative news angles, as well as establish and nurture relationships with media targets and reporters.
  • Executive presence; comfortable providing incisive, strategic counsel to senior executives and business heads.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to devise and execute campaigns.
  • Knowledge of content and channel strategy across traditional, social and emerging platforms.
  • Ability to package and present insight using tools and language familiar to businesses.
  • Global worldview, knowledge of geopolitical and macroeconomic forces, and insatiable intellectual curiosity.
  • Enjoys a collaborative work environment.
  • Analytical and lateral thinker.
  • Comfortable with taking risk.
  • Ability to find levity in a professional setting.
