Job Description


First Home Care is a core service agency providing Medicaid and mental health services to children, adolescents and families in Washington DC and the surrounding areas. Our programs offer free-standing, independent levels of care; however, they also function as contracted, wraparound services. As such, they provide ancillary treatment to support programs of social service agencies, special education programs, and office-based therapies.

First Home Care is looking for Clinical Coordinators to provide therapeutic services to children and their families in and around Washington, DC. Evening and weekend work required to meet the scheduling needs of our families. Work with children and families using an intensive, in- home therapeutic model that works with youth and their families to prevent out-of-home placement, increase reunification, and stabilize urgent crisis within the home, school, and community. 95% of the work is done in the home, school, and community.

***Clinical Supervision towards independent licensure provided*** Opportunities for training provided in two evidence-based trauma models, Trauma Systems Therapy (TST) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) as well as the CAFAS assessment tool, Person-Centered Treatment Planning, Verbal De-escalation. (CEU’s available for some in-house training!).

Job Requirements


  • CBI assessment and treatment planning.
  • Timely and Medicaid-compliant documentation. • Strength-based and culturally mindful engagement with youth and family members.
  • Cross-system collaboration and facilitation and participation in Child and Family Teams.
  • Participate in all CBI training, supervision and consultation activities.
  • On-call availability to youth and family.
  • Immediate crisis stabilization with availability to respond in person as clinically indicated. • Individual and family therapy.
  • Behavior management skill building with caregivers.
  • CBI Clinicians will also be responsible for completing Diagnostic Assessments of current and potential clients.
  • Provides transitional services to clients referred from residential treatment facilities.
  • Assists family to locate and appropriately use community resources, agencies and organizations.
  • Includes initial family team meeting within 2 weeks of assignment and discharge meeting 30 days prior to termination of services.
  • Attends all clinical team meetings of his/her clients.
  • Participates in special program/team meetings to assigned cases.
