What we are looking for:


UHS, Inc., is looking for a dynamic, hands-on ASSISTANT CONTROLLER chartered with oversite for full cycle month end close procedures, cost reports, budgets, governmental and other miscellaneous reports.  This position will interact with facility CEOs and CFOs; facility Business Office Managers; corporate personnel and government agencies.


Key Responsibilities include:

  • Complete full cycle month-end close as well as balance sheet account reconciliations for assigned facilities.
  • Assist facilities with accounting (on site) as needed.
  • Assist the Regional Financial Director in the review of month end close and help reconcile problem accounts.
  • Assist in the completion of cost reports.
  • Assist facility Administrators and accounting personnel on accounting related questions and problems.
  • Assist facilities in development and maintenance of the APC/DOI reports and completion of state and federal reports.
  • Perform special projects for Administrators, Regional Financial Directors, and Regional Vice Presidents.
  • Assist in the completion of work papers assigned for external audits as well as work with auditors on any audit related issues.
  • Assist Regional Financial Director in the preparation and review of the annual budget for all assigned facilities.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all required reports and accounting data to meet applicable financial deadlines.
  • Occasional travel expected.







Job Requirements

Position Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • Experience with complete full cycle month-end close as well as balance sheet account reconciliations..
  • Experience supporting multiple facilities is required.
  • Knowledgeable of cost accounting standards.
  • Knowledgeable of APC/DOI reports and related state and federal reports.
  • Experienced with internal and external audits and working with auditors on all audit related issues.
  • Knowledgeable of annual budget preparation and review for multiple facilities.
  • Occasional travel expected.
