As a team member in the Technology Governance group, this position will assist in the planning and execution of control self-assessments for systems development related projects. The incumbent will support the Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC) Governance Leader in defining and implementing a SDLC control-self assessment framework. In addition to performing SDLC reviews, the role will assist with developing presentations, documenting process flows, and developing standard operating procedures. Individuals at this level are expected to use some independence of thought but will receive regular and direct guidance and direction from their supervisor and/or senior team members.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist with defining and implementing a risk-based control-self assessment framework

  • Assist with planning of business process control self-assessments, including gathering and analyzing project documentation

  • Assist with the evaluation and reporting of business processes and associated controls, including documenting assessment results

  • Participate and support activities to summarize and present control self-assessment results to project teams and executive management

  • Work closely with project teams to promptly resolve control related issues, including exception management

  • Work with managers to identify and recommend business process improvements related to control practices that support the SDLC methodology

  • Develop, maintain, and continually improve educational materials used to build organizational literacy over SDLC risks and controls

  • Assist managers with cross-functional process-related projects from a risk and control advisory perspective


  • BS/BA in Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Business or related fieldStrong communication (oral and written), technical and analytical skills with an attention to details

  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work confidently across groups and levels
  • Quick learner with an ability to work independently as well in a team environment to meet deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities
  • Professional certifications, such as Business Process Management (BPM), Scrum Master, or CRISC (a plus but not required)
  • Internship and/or working experience focusing on technology risk management or auditing concepts (a plus but not required)
